About Us...

We all have that one personality trait that stands out above the rest and gives us a purpose in our lives. I am the planner. The organizer of the family, party coordinator of the friends, the “go to” for when an idea needs nourishing.

It has always brought me great joy to see an idea come to life, and I fueled my creative passion through many different professional avenues and personal experiences. Often labeled a 'perfectionist,' I take pride in providing an exceptional experience that can bring happiness or create lasting memories for others.  

The Perfect Shindig is my solution to a fire that has burned within me for as long as I can remember. It is my passion project - many decades in the making. Various professional, creative, and organizational skills all coming together to provide a perfectly unique event service. 

I truly believe that the details are what set apart ordinary events from extraordinary events. The Perfect Shindig is my promise to create an event that, through the details, is perfectly, uniquely you.

 

Aimee Petersen

Aimee’s gifts of organization, attention to detail, creative imagination, and concept vision have allowed for unparalleled excellence as an event planner.

Aimee has been involved with customer service and event planning for most of her life. For much of her career, she has helped countless companies and organizations plan exciting, memorable and successful events through her company, SportPros Events. She has been solely responsible for a wide variety of events, including large scale meetings, corporate tournaments, and television productions to name a few. During that same time, she worked for a NJ wedding and event coordinator that brought her back to her love for weddings and allowed her a creative outlet for her ideas and skills.

Now, as President of The Perfect Shindig, she brings decades of experience and talent to lead a dynamic team of customer service oriented event planners.

Aimee is also an active member of her community. She served as Vice President and chairperson of a local nonprofit organization for many years and remains an active member today. She believes in giving back through volunteering, fundraising, and creating standards of excellence that raise the bar of professionalism.

When not planning the perfect shindig, Aimee can be found spending time with her family, contributing to her local community, and scrolling through Instagram for inspiration.

Shannon Grizil

While relatively new to the full-service event planning business, Shannon has over 15 years of onsite event management, catering services, and logistics experience and also excels at operations management.

Shannon’s main focus is on the Perfect Shindig website management and design. Good at wearing many hats, Shannon’s attention to detail, passion for life, and customer service nature make her an excellent fit on The Perfect Shindig’s team of planners.

Shannon enjoys food adventures, being outdoors (especially in the fall), and having an overall adventurous spirit for life.

Kelli Moss

Kelli, a lifelong resident of Upper Saddle River, has dedicated her time to many local organizations over the years. She is the Treasurer of the Saddle River Valley Junior Woman's Club and the USR Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and former leader positions in the Northern Highlands Home and School Association and in the USR PTO.

Kelli has also volunteered at The Church of the Presentation for almost twenty years in the children's programs and funeral ministry. To keep our community of first-responders safe while performing their jobs, Kelli worked tirelessly to find personal protective equipment donations for the USR Fire, Police, and Volunteer Ambulance departments early in the pandemic when supplies were scarce.

Kelli loves being hands-on at events and enjoys setting up and seeing all of the details come together. Her go getter attitude and generous spirit make her a perfect fit for shindigs.

Married for 28 years and a mother of 3 girls, Kelli loves spending time with her family. 

Elysa Levy

A true Jersey Girl, Elysa has many personal and professional talents that translate perfectly into the event planning world.

As a pediatric occupational therapist, Elysa spends considerable time creating, planning, and implementing ideas while also collaborating with a team of people to provide individual care.

She enjoys working with others in order to plan and execute a unique event that wows the client and brings out their own personalities. Elysa’s favorite aspect of planning is seeing all of the tiny details come together to make a spectacular event.

Elysa lives in Upper Saddle River with her husband, three children and two dogs.

Sydnee Newsham

Sydnee is a welcome addition to the Perfect Shindig team! A true people person and hard-worker, Sydnee puts her whole self into everything she does.

A student at Flagler College, Sydnee grew up with an event planner mom and has been involved in events and volunteering since she was a baby. She is very meticulous and her attention to detail is spot on - an event planner’s dream! Her knowledge and outgoing personality make her perfectly fit for shindigs.

Sydnee is always looking to find elements of excitement and spontaneity in everything she does. She is excited to add her personal flair to upcoming events!

Skylar Newsham

A true planner at heart, Skylar brings a fresh new perspective to our event planning. A sophomore in college studying hospitality, Skylar is very organized and enjoys being part of a team.

Skylar’s natural talents for event planning comes from her giving nature and having grown up with an event planner mother and being around events her whole life.

Involved in volunteering since she was little, Skylar is looking forward to further exploring a different side of the industry she loves so much.
